Digital SLR Photography

No longer just for professionals

Affordable digital SLR arrives. Step out the front door with an EOS 300D in your hands and suddenly you will start seeing the world differently.

With Canon's full range of over 60 EF lenses available, you and your EOS 300D will be capable of switching anywhere from ultra-wide fish-eye to super long telephoto in seconds. With your eye on the viewfinder and your left hand gripping the lens for lightening quick zoom adjustment, you will fee like a pro as you let off 2.5 frames a second to capture a striking mini-series of your subject.

High technology

Packed into this digital powerhouse are many advanced technologies already proven in Canon's professional series cameras. Detail in your enlargements will be razor sharp, thanks to Canon's 6.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor. Jaw-dropping write time speeds mean your camera will always be at the ready for taking your next shot - or admiring your last. The 7-point, high-speed predictive auto-focus is faster and more accurate than the human eye and you will be guaranteed perfect exposures in even the most difficult shooting circumstances with the EOS 300D's 35-zone metering.

Print straight from the camera

Lab quality prints from home without first downloading to a computer are now a reality with support for PictBridge. With nothing more than a USB cable, your EOS 300D connects and prints directly to any brand of photo printer bearing the PictBridge logo. Review and select photographs to be printed on the large 1.8" LCD screen, set variables such as quantity, print effects, cropping and paper size/type and within seconds of taking a photo you'll have a glossy print on card stock that looks like it came straight from a processing lab.

Fast image processing with superb results

Underpinning the camera's technical superiority is Canon's unique high-speed DIGIC (Digital Image Core) processor. Without photo labs and negative processing, the camera must handle the critical role of image processing; there is no returning of unsatisfactory images. DIGIC has been purpose built from the ground up to do this right - first time, every time. The result: Outstanding image quality with no trade-off in camera responsiveness.

"A great digital image requires both quality raw ingredients and quality processing," said Hiroshi Komatsuzaki, Head of Canon Consumer Imaging Europe at the camera's launch. "Superior lens and sensor technologies ensure the best raw ingredients. It is what DIGIC does with these that gives the EOS 300D the edge."
